Some of our tours are camping, some accommodated in either hostels, farmstays or sheep Stations and some a mixture of both. We use accommodation on all of our south west tours and on all tours as far as Exmouth. Once past Exmouth we camp. Campsites can vary a great deal in services provided and amenities. In the itineraries for each tour is a legend marking the type of accommodation used on that night.

Facilities available in each are as follows...
  • BC - Bush camp - No facilities whatsoever except what we carry on the vehicle
  • C - Campsite - Designated campsite that has a pit toilet and water
  • CP - Caravan Park - Showers, toilets and washing facilities
  • H - Hostel - Shared dorm accommodation. All facilities available
  • FS - Farmstay - Accommodation varies. All facilities available
  • SS - Sheep or Cattle Station - Twin accommodation. All facilities.
On tours where hostels are used single or twin upgrades are available at extra cost, subject to availability.

On our camping tours we mostly camp under the stars in an authentic Aussie swag – a mattress and sleeping bag enclosed in a canvas bag. We also use two man tents, inside which you are more than welcome to use these swags or sleeping bags. You can request a tent if the “outdoor swagging” concept does not appeal to you.

Sleeping bags are required on all of our camping tours. We recommend that you bring you own sleeping bag although we can sell you one suitable for the conditions you will experience for AU$50. You can keep it at the end of the tour. There is however no substitute for your own bed and the same is true of a sleeping bag if you have one. You may also wish to bring a small pillow. All other camping equipment is provided.
